ANALYSIS OF WATER QUALITY AND QUALITY STATUS IN ACEH RIVERS BASED ON ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION INDEX

The rapid development of industrialization and urbanization in the world impact increased water pollution. Human activities, such as dam constructions, excessive consumption, severance river flows, compaction riverbanks, use riverbed vegetation, disrupt flow alter original hydrological cycle. In response to these conditions, this study aims analyze quality status set up a watershed environmental management strategy Aceh Province case study. River was analyzed descriptively by comparing results laboratory tests with parameters, namely TSS, pH, BOD, COD, DO, total phosphate, nitrate, fecal coli. These parameters were then transformed into index (Water Quality Index Pollution Index). It found that Water (WQI) are shown from 50 70. WQI Good category is at Kr. Weh which Central city. medium-less type 10 watersheds. Less 3 points, Aceh, Cr. Doy, Daroy. region, upstream downstream, has decreased lightly polluted based on Minister Environment Forestry Republic Indonesia No. 27 2021 for class II.
